"'Harvest'ed Text - Other" Goes Live
Another section of the website is now open.

At 'Harvest-ed' Text - Other, you can expect to find printed resources that don't fit conveniently into an established category on the site. You will also find links to other helpful documents and text resources around the web.

For instance, in the first post, I pointed out the three Christian womens' blogs that I have commended to my own wife.

I hope you find it profitable to your soul. If you do, there are subscription options at that page.

  Praise Report from Leo DeGroot
Thank you for praying for the DeGroots. All went well in Sioux City today. He was a good candidate for the treatment and received the first--and possibly last--dose. He should be seeing much better in a couple weeks and will have a follow-up on March 27th. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Leo DeGroot to Have Eye Appointment at 3:30p.m. Today
Dear Congregation,

As many of you know, Leo's recent eye surgery was only the first of two to repair/improve his eyesight. Recently, the DeGroots learned that there is a new non-surgical procedure that may replace the second step.

Leo is going into Sioux City at 3:30 this afternoon to be evaluated for the new procedure and possibly have it done.

Please pray God's blessing upon Leo and upon those treating him. Thank you!

  Encouragement for Prelude Players
Dear Congregation,

I wanted to send a note out to thank Isaac Ward for serving us in the prelude yesterday with a tastefully presented song of pure Scripture as we prepared our hearts for worship, and to encourage more of you to volunteer to help us prepare on Sunday mornings.

As done yesterday, you could play/sing Scripture passages in a way that keeps the emphasis on the Scripture; or, you could read Scripture passages; or, you could play well-known hymns. Or perhaps something else, even. The point is to help others prepare their hearts.

Those wishing to volunteer should make arrangements with Jean Vander Plaats who, under Gary's authority, so graciously has been arranging our preludes for several months, with the knowledge of the Steering Committee.

If you wish to do something from the "perhaps something else" category, please first run it by Pastor James, so that we can make sure that everything is done "properly and in an orderly manner" (1Cor 14:40).

Also, please note that a prelude, and a part of the actual worship service are two very different things. Anyone wishing to do anything in the worship service itself (beyond the accompaniment which we already have and for which we are grateful) should talk to Pastor James, and any unusual decisions will be made by the full steering committee (soon, hopefully, the full session!).

Working with you for your joy and His glory,

Pastor James
